The Louise Tebboth Foundation (LTF) (supported by the Society of Occupational Medicine – SOM) is conducting research to gain insight into the experiences of clinicians working in hospitals who have experienced the death by suicide of a colleague.

The objective is to better understand the nature of the experience and to make recommendations to improve the support available.

We want to interview people working in a hospital environment (primarily but not exclusively doctors) who have experienced the death by suicide of a colleague. The time limit is flexible, but we would expect volunteers to have experienced the death within the last five years. Interviews would be confidential and conducted online.

Please contact Professor Gail Kinman kinmangf@gmail.com or Gary Marson, LTF secretary on gary.marsonltf@gmail.com for more information.

LTF and SOM worked together to conduct similar research in primary care which resulted in a report and framework to support primary care organisations following the death by suicide of a colleague. Find out more about that research here.
